Meet the speakers

Josh Clark

Josh is the founder of digital agency Big Medium. Along with his Big Medium partner Brad Frost, Josh has guided the build and evolution of design systems at the world's biggest companies, including Caterpillar, United Airlines, Pfizer, Nasdaq, Cigna, and more. Josh is a UX design leader who helps complex organizations build products for what’s next, specializing in future-friendly experiences for AI, enterprise design systems, connected devices, and the web. Josh is author of several books, including "Designing for Touch" (A Book Apart) and "Tapworthy: Designing Great iPhone Apps" (O’Reilly). Way back in 1996, Josh created the “Couch-to–5K” (C25K) running program, which has helped millions of skeptical would-be exercisers take up running. (His motto is the same for fitness as it is for software user experience: no pain, no pain.)

Lauren LoPrete

Lauren is a multi-disciplinary design leader who has dedicated her career to elevating the skills of designers and improving the quality of user experiences.Currently, she's working on the design systems team at Cash App, guiding designers in maintaining a toolkit that spans foundation brand decisions to platform specific components. Before this, Lauren led the design systems team at Dropbox and contributed as a designer to Expedia's first cross-product, multi-brand design system.Beyond her day-to-day role, Lauren enjoys sharing her experience at events like Figma’s Schema Conference, where she spoke about "Expanding Your Sphere of Influence," and the Clarity Conference, where she delved into the topic of "Design System's Burnout."

PJ Onori

PJ has worked on design systems since 2011 and exclusively since 2016. He’s had the chance to work on design systems for companies like General Electric, Disney, and Pinterest. He’s currently the Senior Design Manager for Design Systems at Instacart. You may also know him from the podcast Office Hours which he co-hosts with Davy Fung or his weekly newsletter Design System News.
